Kalamkari is a Textile Painting, it is a 12 step process which involves painting with Natural Dyes. This age old technique of painting on cloth brings the Hindu epics to life and is traditionally done on cotton fabric. It has a specific style of drawing as the inspiration of this art form comes from the temple architecture of South India. Artisans learn this art since their childhood and so they are called the masters of this beautiful art of Kalamkari.
