Srimad-Bhagavad-Gita: The Revelation of the Supreme Self
Originally published in 1949, "The Revelation of the Supreme Self" - an English translation of the Sanskrit text of the Srimad-Bhgavad-Gita along with an original verse by verse spiritual interpretative text of the dialogue of Krishna and Arjuna according to advaita and Kriya Yoga by Swami Premananda (the Founder of the Gandhi Memorial Center) is now available on Amazon Kindle. In order to preserve the continuity of the subject matter and thought of both the original translation and the spiritual text, the entire volume is presented in two sections. In the first section is found the translation of the original text, while the second section enshrines the spiritual text. From Swami Premananda’s introduction: “The present work aspires to bring out the spiritual significance of the Bhagavad Gita. It endeavors to reveal, upon the basis of direct personal realization, the esoteric Yogic interpretation of the entire dialogue between Krishna and Arjuna. To the extent which language permits, selective expressions are very carefully used in the spiritual text in order to rightly convey the inner meaning of the words of the original… The war of the Gita, is the subjective battle that is being constantly waged within the heart of man between the delusive propensities of the ego and the illuminating qualities of the soul.” Swami Premananda dedicated this book to the hallowed memory of Mahatma Gandhi.
